The York Police Administrative Office is the primary contact for individuals and other agencies requesting information regarding the Town of York Police Department’s activity.

The administrative office has a staff of four (4) civilian employees that serve an essential role within the department providing administrative support to all staff members at the police department, as well as the Public.

 The Administrative team provides public assistance in many areas including, but not limited to copies of incident reports, weapons permits, yard sale permits, and record checks as requested.

Before you have a yard sale at your home, you need to get a permit from the York Police Department.  View the Ordinance for Yard and Barn Sales (PDF).

Frequency & Duration for Sales

  • Before you have a yard sale, you need to register for your permit at the Police Station located at 9 Hannaford Drive.
  • You can register at any time of day, any day of the year. Best of all, there's no fee.
  • Each residence is permitted to have up to 2-yard sales each calendar year. Each yard sale can last up to 3 consecutive days.
